A planar RF transmit coil designed for vertical field MRI

2016
A planar RF transmit coil designed for vertical field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is presented in this paper. The coil designed in this paper has four rectangle loops in every coil element and a small shunt loop was introduced to uniform the RF magnetic field. Then we optimize the RF transmit coil used for a 0.3T MRI. The calculation results showed that the difference of RF magnetic field in a sphere of 200 mm in diameter is less than 1.081 dB, which is much better than the general requirements of 3 dB.
