Somatomedina C en el descontrol agudo de diabéticos

We studied 15 diabetics older than 25; eight men and 7 women with glycemia and creatinin higher than 400 mg% and less than 3 mg%. Thirteen diabetics were type II and two type I. Control Group had plasma levels of SMC of 59.2±29.2 ng/ml. Meanwhile the diabetic group showed a reduction of SMC from 43±32 to 28.6 ng/ml (p<0.01), Growth Hormone from 4.64±3.58 to 3.31±2.91 ng/ml (p<0.01)
