Questionnaire survey on the compliance of the elderly in army with metabolic syndrome

Objective:To investigate the compliance of the elderly in army with metabolic syndrome and provide basis for the prevention of the disease.Methods:A total of 157 patients with metabolic syndrome(MS) were investigated by questionnaire survey.Results:Fourty-nine patients(31.2%) followed up willingly and 43 patients(27.4%) understood the MS management plan,the patients in the group of 60 to 69 years old were better than other groups.The blood sugar control rate in the group of older than 80 years was lower,while the body mass index was higher than those of the other two groups.Conclusion:Many patients with MS don' t pay attention to their diseases,whose control rate of blood sugar and blood lipid need to be improved.The shortage of disease knowledge is an important factor influencing therapeutic effects.
