K+p Reggeized phase shift analysis

1971
Abstract We performed KN and K N absorptive Regge fits at high energies, and phase-shift analysis of K + p at 26 energies below 2 GeV/ c . They used the same Veneziano formula for the high partial waves. The shortest path solution turned out to be that closest to the Regge extrapolation in low waves also. We thus have a consistent picture of K + p from 0 to 16 GeV/ c . Agreement with the KN ∗ channel is also better than before. Though an exotic resonance is not completely excluded, K + p scattering can be accurately described without one. The KΛN coupling constant is g Λ 2 = 10.5 ± 1.5.
