Composição corporal e desempenho físico de alunos do curso de monitor da escola de educação física do exército/ 2002

The purpose of this study was to check the correlation between the body composition and somatotype and the performance in practical examinations in the Monitor Course/2002 of Brazilian Army Physical Education School. Forty-three students from the Monitor Course, aged 23-42 years (27.42 ± 3.69), Total Body Mass 58.5-99 Kg (70.97 ± 7.13) and height 165-190 cm (174.98 ± 5.56). For the sake of correlations, the following body and somatotype components were used: Total Body Mass, Lean Body Mass, Fat Mass, Muscle Mass, fat Percentage and Mesomorphy. The practical examinations considered in this study wer breaststroke and crawl swimming, weight throwing, pull-ups, push-ups, running, curl-ups and rope climbing.
