Sonazoidを用いたParametric Imageにより，短期間にSorafenib治療における腫瘍血流動態の評価が可能であった進行肝細胞癌の1例

We experienced a case in whom we were able to observe the change in tumor vascularization under treatment with sorafenib for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by contrast-enhanced ultrasonography using sonazoid (CEUS). The patient was a 63-year-old man with advanced HCC originating from alcoholic liver cirrhosis. Examinations were performed at the baseline, and after 2 and 4 weeks on sorafenib, with the tumor target accessible using CEUS with micro flow imaging and parametric imaging (PI). At an early stage 2 weeks after the start of treatment, the change in tumor vascularization could be visually evaluated in a single image by PI. Moreover, the tumor markers markedly decreased after 2 months. We suggest that CEUS might be an effective method for evaluating the early effects of an antiangiogenic drug, sorafenib, in advanced HCC.
