Determination of the relaxation transition parameters from the results of thermophysical measurements

Abstract It is shown that the Vol'kenshtein-Ptitsyn parameters C o = RT i 2 / U i in the Bartenev equation Wr = C o has the meaning of the halfwidth of the temperature interval of the structural relaxational transition. The temperature intervals of the glass transition of different polymers are analysed and a method proposed for determining the activation energy of the relaxation transition from thermophysical measurements.
