Influence of the Quenching Temperature on the Ferroelectric Regular Domain Structure Formation

2019
The kinetics of the formation of regular domain structures has been investigated in the framework of the Ginzburg-Landau model, using the lithium tantalate crystal as an example. The nonmonotonic character of the evolution of the system to the state of thermodynamic equilibrium is shown. Due to the nonlinearity of the equations obtained, a numerical analysis was performed which showed the existence of an incubation period and virtual asymmetric polydomain phases. It was found that the formation of regular domain structures under the influence of a high-frequency electric field occurs at any quenching temperature. It was shown that in the process of relaxation the average domain size grows according to the square root law.
