Fingerprint recognition based on wavelet transform and ART

In the fingerprint identification system. Pre-processing, feature extraction, feature match are the main procedures to identify fingerprint. Most fingerprint identification algorithm are based on the minutiae feature of fingerprint.. In this paper, a new method of fingerprint recognition is proposed based on wavelet transform and ART (Adaptive Resonance Theory Neural Network). The wavelet minutiae features are extracted from the, fingerprint image after pre-processing, and the feature vectors are authenticated using ART. The high recognition rates are achieved by experiments, it shows that the proposed method is very effective with strong robustness.
