La gestión de las emociones, una necesidad en el contexto educativo y en la formación profesional

2018
Emotional intelligence is defined as the affectation that a person has when relating to different stimuli, states or environmental situations (Lopez, 2015). When relating emotional intelligence with learning in the educational context (Gorostiaga & Balluerka, 2014), it is found that emotions, moods, beliefs and motivation influence how situations are perceived (Hernandez, Ledesma, Olivas, Martinez & Escorza, 2016), and these in turn intervene in the teaching - learning process (Cejudo, Lopez & Rubio, 2016). This study aimed to describe the emotional intelligence of the first semester students of Psychology of a Private University. The research method used was quantitative with non-experimental design with descriptive and cross-sectional scope. To collect the information, a sociodemographic data sheet and the Emotional Intelligence Scale proposed by BarOn (1988) adapted by Ugarriza (2003) were used.
