Sustentabilidade no Brasil: Uma Análise nos Disclosures Socioambientais em Instituições Bancárias Privadas Signatárias da Gri Sustainability in Brazil: An Analysis of Environmental Disclosure on Private Signatory Gri Banking Institutions

Currently, there is an incentive to sustainable practices and policies around the issues related to the environment, which requires changes in attitudes to a new development model, combining ecological prudence, economic growth and sustainable development. This study aimed to verify which are the main initiatives to mitigate environmental impacts under the environmental perspective adopted by private banking institutions in Brazil, as well as to identify the disclosure actions that guide the sustainable development of the GRI model. The methodology used was content analysis and correspondence analysis (ANACOR), with the help of the "Atlas.ti" software and SPSS 20. The results lead to the conclusion that major initiatives are programs aimed at mitigating environmental impacts that targeted the management of emissions, environmental education, eco-efficiency programs and clean development mechanisms.
