Numerical modeling of seepage flows in the beds of power-generating entities

A means based on the finite-element method is proposed for numerical modeling of stationary and nonstationary pressure and gravitational seepage fields in the beds of structures, which consist of alternating water-bearing and slightly permeable layers. Results are cited for seepage calculations performed in the bed of the Novo-Voronezh Nuclear Power Plant, including calibration of the model with consideration of field data and prediction of variation in the ground water table with introduction of the plant's second stage.
