Frequency adjustment in a combined mobile communication device and positioning.

2004
A communications device, comprising: means (108) for producing a first reference signal (108b) and a second reference signal (108a); means (106) for recovering a first information signal of a first carrier using the first reference signal; means (102) for recovering a second information signal from a second carrier using the second reference signal, means being configured to retrieve the second information signal to operate in an active state and an idle state; means for detecting a frequency error (116c) in the first information signal; and further comprising means (116) to tune periodically the first reference signal to reduce the frequency error, wherein the means for tuning the first reference signal to reduce the frequency error enable tuning the first reference signal if the frequency error crosses a first threshold, and once enabled, continue tuning the first reference signal until the frequency error is reduced below a second threshold, and wherein the first threshold and second threshold is a function of the state of the means for recovering the second information signal from the second carrier.
