An interference suppression strategy for satellite-borne AIS

2016
This paper focuses on the interference suppression for satellite-borne Marine Automatic Identification System (AIS). Based on the analysis for the two kinds of interferences, Doppler frequency diversity method is proposed to suppress the interference by making use of known satellite orbit. Besides, an iterative reception method is proposed to overcome the Doppler frequency ambiguity existing in some special cases for the first conflict. Both the analysis and simulation show proposed joint interference suppression strategy is powerful for suppressing interference and achieves higher packet detection probability, increasing by 10%–20% compared to the traditional method.
