Research on Superplasticity of Industrial 5052 Al Alloy

The superplasticity of industrial 5052 Al alloy was investigated.Both the uniaxial tensile test and free gas bulging forming test show that the alloy has good superplasticity at different temperatures(ranging from 400 ℃ to 525 ℃).Under the temperature of 400 ℃ and strain rate of 10-2 s-1,the elongation of the material is more than 215%.Under the temperature of 425 ℃ and gas pressure of 40 N/cm2,the gas bulging bubble is higher than 50.2 mm,and the wall becomes thinner,especially the thinnest place is 0.3 mm.The 5052 Al alloy shows good superplasticity.
