Optical design of the Diffuse Infrared Background Experiment for NASA's Cosmic Background Explorer

1982
The Diffuse Infrared Background Experiment is a 10 band filter photometer that will operate at liquid helium temperatures. Diffuse galactic and extragalactic infrared radiation in the 1-300 micron wavelength range will be measured by the instrument. Polarization measurements for the 1 to 3.5 micron range will also be made. In this paper we present the conceptual optical design of the instrument.© (1982) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
