Study of the reaction $sup 12$C + $sup 13$C $Yields$ $alpha$ + $sup 21$Ne

The reaction $sup 12$C + $sup 13$C $Yields$ $alpha$ + $sup 21$Ne has been investigated at c.m. bombarding energy of 14.5 MeV by using beams of both $sup 12$C and $sup 13$C. The $alpha$-particle reaction products were recorded by using a multiple-angle spectrograph. Seventy-six levels were observed below 12.56 MeV in $sup 21$Ne; 28 levels from 9.42 to 12.56 MeV are reported for the first time. The data are consistent with a compound-nucleus reaction mechanism.
