Faster Uphill relaxation of a Two-level Quantum system

2021
Recently it was shown that, if we consider classical \textit{small} systems and Equi-distant temperature quenches, the thermal relaxation process is asymmetric and the uphill relaxation is always faster for dynamics close to a stable minima [Phys. Rev. Lett. 125, 110602]. Here with exact calculations, we demonstrate this in a two-level quantum system that is in contact with a thermal reservoir.
