Acid mine drainage prediction from cover rock layer on coal deposits of Pulaubalang formation

2021
A significant impact of the mining activity is pollution to water, namely acid mine drainage (AMD). One of the efforts that can to reduce the contact of sulfide minerals with oxygen in the air is by identifying minerals in rocks that have the potential to form acidity or Potential Acid Forming (PAF) with those that do not have the potential to form acidity or Non-Acid Forming (NAF). PAf and NAF’s planning for the potential formation of mine acid water is indispensable in open-pit mining activities. Open-pit mining is a method of mining whose activities come into direct contact with the outside air so that the potential for mine acidic water formation will increase due to exposure to oxygen and water directly. The environment will feel a considerable impact from mining activities, so that appropriate environmental control systems are needed to improve the impact of mining on the environment by looking at cover rock layer.
