About using Computed Tomography (CT) in Ischemic Stroke

2014
Computed Tomography (CT) was not the modality of choice in the case of Ischemic Stroke mostly because of the high dose and the double injection of contrast media in addition to the limited covered area and the accuracy question of the tissue at risk and necrotic areas. The modality used today by most of radiologist in the case of stroke is the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Unfortunately, the number of installed systems in Tunisia compared to the population is low. Since the stroke patients have to go through the CT exam in order to differentiate between ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, the question is why not to continue with the CT Perfusion Workflow? The main purpose of this document is to promote CT Perfusion based on the new improvements.
