Submitting Images for Publication

Photography plays an important role in medicine. Photographs allow the physician to document clinical findings, evaluate the results of treatment, and keep a visual record of the patient’s medical history. Photographs may act as a substitute for lengthy descriptions and imprecise drawings in medical literature, allowing the reader to view objective findings with their own eyes. In the Internet era, the process of submitting images for publication is much easier than it was in the past. Virtually all journals have online submission portals for manuscripts and any relevant additional information, including images.
