Comparison of mucoexopolysaccharide content and adhesion capacity between cryptic growth and vegetative cells of Pseudomonas aeruginosa

2000
The mucoexopolysaccharide and the adhesion capacity were significantly higher in cryptic growth cells than in vegetative cells of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P<0.01, P<0.01 respectively). After the conversion from vegetative cells to cryptic growth cells of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the content of mucoexopolysaccharide and the adhesion capacity are increased significantly. The study on cryptic growth cells of Pseudomonas aeruginosa is helpful to undertand the adaptation and pathogenicity of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
