Calculation of emptying inclined pipelines with consideration of unsteady-state effects

Hydraulic calculation of emptying conduits of hydroelectric and pumped-storage stations, pipelines of thermal and nuclear power stations, and sections of oil pipelines is related to monitoring emergency situations and for this reason should be carried out most accurately. Fluid flow in a an inclined pipeline is affected by inertial forces, consideration of which complicates the hydraulic calculation. This paper describes a calculation method for the emptying of pipelines.
