Bionomics of Eutomostethus longidentus

Eutomostethus longidentus Wei is a defoliator attacking Phyllostachys pubescens.It has one generation one or two years and oversummers and overwinters as prepupa in cocoon.It pupates,emerges and oviposits between the second or third May and June.The larva defoliates from mid May to the end of July.The mature larva begins to go into the soil and metamorphose into prepupa in early June.
