CATALYST IMPROVES OCTANE AT PERM REFINERY

The Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez (Perm refinery) successfully increased its production of unleaded gasoline by replacing the catalyst in its 15,000 b/sd naphtha reformer. UOP's S-12 hydrotreating catalyst and R-56 reforming catalyst, the Perm refinery achieved 99.5 research octane number clear (RONC) reformate production ability, long cycle lengths, and excellent recovery from unit upsets.
