A Thermal Imaging Sensor Evaluation Facility.
1977
Abstract : A facility has been developed for testing and evaluating thermal imaging sensors. The facility employs a differential temperature source imaged by a 12 inch off-axis parabolic mirror collimator. The facility can provide differential temperatures ranging from -20C to +80C. Four-bar resolution targets are available from 0.25 cy/mrad to 9.0 cy/mrad. Tests that can be performed include minimum resolvable temperature difference (MRT), signal transfer function (SiTF), modulation transfer function (MTF) and line spread function (LSF), uniformity, and distortion.
