Enhancing line emission from subpicosecond laser-produced plasma

The analysis of the methods increasing line emission from plasma produced by subpicosecond laser pulses is given. An interaction of subpicosecond laser pulse with foil (1) and a pair of laser pulses with a bulk solid target (2) is considered. It is shown that maximal line intensity corresponds to certain width of foil (1) and time separation betwwen laser pulses (2).© (2004) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
