ELEKTRODEGRADASI SURFAKTAN ANIONIK DALAM LIMBAH JASA PENCUCIAN PAKAIAN MENGGUNAKAN ELEKTRODA PLATINA (Pt);ELECTRODEGRADATION OF ANIONIC SURFACTANT IN WASTEWATER LAUNDRY USING PLATINUM (Pt) ELECTRODE

2016
Electrodegradation of anionic surfactant in wastewater laundry using platinum (Pt) electrode has been studied. Electrolysis was carried out by sodium dodesil benzene sulfonat (SDBS) solution in natrium chloride solution and reacting with methylene blue (MB) to form bluish purple compound of SDBS-MB measured at wavelength of 650 nm. Optimizing of electrical current, concentration of electrolyte NaCl, time and effect of electrolyte solution of Na2SO4 and Na3PO4 in degradation process was examined was examined. The solution sample obtained from pre- and post-electrolysis measured with spectrophotometry UV-Vis. The determination of COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) value was performed using titrimetric method in accordance with SNI. 6989.73-2009 procedure. The results of the research show that the of initial COD value laundry wastewater was 720 mg L-1 and concentration of anionic surfactant maximum was 190.06 mg L-1. The SDBS-MB absorbance reached maximum level with electrical current of 0.8 A in 0.5 M NaCl and reaction time of 5 h. The average percentage of degradation in laundry wastewater was 70.17% and final of COD value was 2336 mg L-1. .
