Flash photolysis-shock tube kinetic investigation of the reaction of oxygen(3P) atoms with ammonia
1990
The rate constant for the reaction of O({sup 3}P) with NH{sub 3} was measured over the temperature range of 765-1,790 K by the flash photolysis-shock tube technique. The results, expressed in Arrhenius form, are k{sub 1}(T) = (1.07 {plus minus} 0.10) {times} 10{sup {minus}10} exp({minus}11,155 {plus minus} 217/RT) (cm{sup 3} molecule{sup {minus}1} s{sup {minus}1}). When these results were combined with the directly determined, low-temperature data of Perry (448-841 K), k{sub 1}(T) displayed distinct non-Arrhenius behavior over the extended temperature range of 448-1,790 K.
