Mo1311 Late Recurrence of Biliary Anastomotic Strictures (BAS) in Liver Transplant Patients Initially Responding to Covered Self-Expandable Metal Stents (CSEMS)

2012
patients developed pancreatitis. In 12 of 13 patients a sustained clinical success (SCS) was achieved without any further need of intervention over at least 3 months. In 9 (69%) patients SCS was achieved after one dilatation. One patient received 2 interventions and 2 patients received 3 interventions. Balloon dilatation was performed 1.46 times on average. Use of drug-eluting balloons for endoscopic therapy may reduce the need for frequent invasive interventions and improve the management of biliary strictures after LT. A prospective, large-scale randomized trial is required to confirm our preliminary obervations.
