Structural and magnetic properties of Y2CO17(0001) thin films

Abstract Epitaxial Y 2 CO 17 (0001) films have been grown for the first time by pulsed laser deposition. All films ( d = 30–300 A) were found to have easy plane magnetization, and no evolution of the anisotropy energy with thickness was observed. The coercive field was found to be higher for the films deposited at higher substrate temperatures.
