Direct Power Control of a PMSG in Wind Power Conversion System under Faulty Rectifier Conditions

This paper investigates the modeling and simulation of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) based wind energy conversion system (WECS) under the effects of single open Switch Fault (SOSF) and multiple IGBT open-circuit faults designed for isolated sites. The strategy (DPC) has been developed to supervise the instantaneous active and reactive power directly by selecting the optimum switching state of the converter. Simulation results have shown that control structure achieves good performances.
