Highly efficient and stable Cd-free quantum dot light emitting diodes

2021
Quantum dots (QDs) are ideal light emitters for display applications and currently employed as color converters in large-panel LCD displays with backlights. However, quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QD-LEDs) are considered as next generation display devices that can fully harness excellent optical properties of QDs. Through a few decades of research, there has been much progress in QD-LEDs for Cd-based QDs, but the development of environmentally friendly QD-LEDs has remained a challenge. Here, we present progress in the development of Cd-free QD-LEDs based on InP and ZnSe QDs.
