Long-term effects of radiation therapy in the head and neck

: The treatment and cure of cancer of the head and neck carry morbidity regardless of the disease process or modality employed. Although the effects of surgery are usually immediately obvious, those of radiotherapy evolve over time. This article reviews the long-term effects of radiotherapy for cancer of the oral cavity in adults and cancer of the mid and lower face in children and adolescents.
