Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics Over a NACA0018 Aerofoil and a Test Aerofoil - A Comparative Study

2014
Experiments are performed for two aerofoil models i.e NACA0018 and Test aerofoil to study flow and heat transfer characteristics when the body approaches the wall of the wind tunnel. Investigations have been done at Reynolds number , different height ratios and various angles of attack for both the models. Here the results are presented in the form of pressure coefficient, drag coefficient, Nusselt number for different height ratios for both the models. The negative pressure coefficient and drag coefficient decreases as the body approaches the upper wall of wind tunnel for both the models for all angles of attack. From the heat transfer experiment it was observed that the local as well as average Nusselt number decreases as the body approaches towards the upper wall of the wind tunnel for both the test models.
