The invention relates to an electrochemical cell comprising a negative electrode, a positive electrode, a disposed on the negative electrode protective layer, which separates the negative electrode from the positive electrode, and an electrolyte, wherein the negative electrode is at least partially metallic lithium, and wherein is formed which is arranged on the negative electrode protective layer of a composite material comprising at least a first material and a second material. The invention further relates to a corresponding method for producing an electrochemical cell.
