To close out this monograph and extract useful conclusions from it, we begin by identifying those elements about which there appears to be broad agreement. We then go on to demonstrate where the disagreements lie within the discipline and, re-examining that which divides us and that which unites us, we present a proposal containing six measures that ought to help remedy the problems identified.
