Fluorescence properties of sensitized photoconducting films of poly-N-epoxypropylcarbazole

A study of fluorescence in photoconductive films of poly-N-epoxypropylcarbazole sensitized by difluoroboron-1,3-bis-(4-butoxyphenyl)-1,3-propanedionate is presented. To support interpretation of the fluorescence spectra of the dual composition, fluorescence of the pure polymer and sensitizer was also investigated in solutions and films. Formation of charge transfer complexes is observed in the sensitized films. Spectra under excitation with light quanta of different energy and fluorescence kinetics reveal dispersion of the fluorescent transition energy of the complexes that is interpreted by different geometrical configuration and environment of a certain complex in a specific location.
