A dithallium-derivative of an amino-tripod by demetallation of the trithallium triamide in dioxane

2001
Abstract The tris(aminosilyl)silane MeSi{SiMe 2 NH(4-CH 3 C 6 H 4 )} 3 ( 2 ) was characterized by X-ray diffraction and found to adopt a “paddle weel” type arrangement. Upon controlled thermolysis of the thallium(I)amide derived from MeSi{SiMe 2 NH t Bu} 3 the dimetallated diamido-amine [MeSi{SiMe 2 N(Tl) t Bu} 2 {SiMe 2 NH t Bu}] ( 3 ) was obtained and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction. The two remaining thallium atoms and the amido-N atoms form a four-membered ring while the remaining NH-amino function coordinates weakly to one of the thallium atoms.
