Resettlement Policy and Process Framework

The development objective of the Agriculture and Fisheries Productivity and Marketing Project for Samoa is to increase the productivity and access to markets by selected smallholder producers, to improve management of targeted productive natural resources. Some of the negative impacts and mitigation measures include: (1) persons identified as losing more than 10 percent of their productive land area or assets, will receive additional assistance for livelihood restoration for land or assets; (2) compensation and or moving assistance for crops, gardens lost; and (3) compensation for crops and edible plants based on ministry of agriculture schedule of payments for crop damage for the current year.
