The effects and safety of irrigation of bladder to treat the female OAB

Objectives To explore the effects and safety of irrigation of bladder to treat the female OAB.Methods The data of 54 patients,from January 2007 to May 2011,was analyzed retrospectively.All the patients were OAB and treated by bladder training and oral drugs first,who have no use.Then they were treated by irrigating bladder with mixed 5% Sodium Bicarbonate Injection 30ml,2% Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection 30ml and 2ml/12500U Heparin Sodium Injection 50000U.The frequency and the total time of reperfusion like other treatment of OAB by irrigating the bladder.All the patients were studied on the bladder first sensitivity of volume,the bladder maximum volume,the urgency and emergency,IPSS,the test of urine and the function of liver and kidney.Results 44 (82%) cases were well obviously in urgency and IPSS,there are significance statistically( P < 0.05 ) pre-and post treatment.The bladder first sensitivity of volume and the bladder maximum volume were well obviously and it has significance statistically( P <0.05) pre-and post treatment.Among the44 patients,10( 18% ) are cured,who has no OAB clinical symptom.The other 10 (18%) patients don' t have any effect by the methods.All the 54 cases don' t have any serious side-effectiveness and have no change in the test of urine and the function of liver and kidney.Conclusions The effects of irrigating the bladder by our methods is good and it is a safe treatment for OAB.It can be used in OAB patients who don' t have effect in bladder training and drugs.
