Analysis of Monitoring Deep Foundation Pit for Xunlimen Station of Wuhan Metro

2010
Research purposes: The open-cut method is often used for construction of metro station and with it the metro station construction affects the surrounding environment because the surrounding environment is complex and there are many buildings and structures. For construction of Xunlimen Station of Line 2 of Wuhan metro, the distance between the excavation edge of 22 m deep foundation pit and the bridge pier light railway was only 1.25 m.The bridge piers should meet the operation requirement of light rail traffic, and they were sensitive to the differential settlements,so it was necessary to monitor and analyze the construction in this key and complex section for offering the solution.Research conclusions:During construction of Xunlimen Station, the monitored data on settlement showed the construction of Xunlimen Station may much affect the operation of the light railway.Through analysis of the relative position of the deep foundation pit to the bridge pier of light rail and the distribution of the soil layer, the construction scheme was optimized and the additional monitoring points are added. With these measures, the settlements of the bridge pier trended to stable and the absolute settlement values and the differential settlement values were effectively controlled in the next construction.
