This study attempted to suggest hair styles which meet consumers’ diverse needs and demand through analysis on hair cut styles and use them as basic data which would be available in estimating current trends and future prospects. In terms of data analysis, a total of 983 women’s hair style photos published in beauty bulletin for ten years (2001 thru 2010) were classified by 10 experts from March 20 to October 20, 2012 by year and season (spring, summer, fall and winter), and an empirical analysis was conducted. In addition, haircut styles were classified into four categories: Solid(S), Graduation(G), Increase Layer(I) and Uniform Layer(U). For data analysis, frequency analysis, crosstabs analysis and correspondence analysis were carried out using the SPSS 10.0 program. Considering the fact that hair styles are completed by a hairdresser’s creativity and techniques based on analysis on hair styles, therefore, this study is significant in that it offers basic data which would be useful for the development and growth of cosmetology industry and improvement of problemsolving ability.
