Bleaching of cottonseed oil using acid activated bentonite treated by different dosage of sulfuric acid

Bleaching efficiency of cottonseed oil using activated products prepared with various do-sage of sulfuric acid was investigated.The results showed that the bleaching performance were significant.The peroxide value of bleached oil was decreased distinctly,higher activity degree and free acid of acid activated bentonite could increase the acid value of bleached oil,at the same time,some of free fatty acids were adsorbed easily by acid activated bentonite.In addition,bleaching process of cottonseed oil by acid activated bentonite treated with 25% sulfuric acid was performed,the optimum conditions were obtained as bleaching temperature 95℃,time 15 min and dosage of acid activated bentonite 5%(W/V) under va-cuum 0.09 MPa.
