A Comparison of the Thrombogenic Activity of Prothrombin Complex Concentrates Using Stasis and Non-stasis Models

1991
Patients treated with prothrombin complex concentrates (PCC) have frequently been found to develop thrombotic events (Kaspar 1975; Cederbaum 1976). Therefore, PCC must be regarded as potentially thrombogenic substances (Elodi 1977). In order to reduce the risk of thromboembolic complications the addition of heparin was recommended (Menache and Roberts 1975).
