Modeling, simulation and optimization of depropanizer based on rigorous mechanism modeling

Depropanizer is an energy consuming process, but it is very important in the process of ethylene. For deep analysis and optimization of the operation conditions of depropanizer, an model was found based on strict first principle, than simulation and optimization work was carried to get the best operation conditions. The model was firstly founded by open formed formulas under the consideration of quickness and flexibility. Then The whole model with more than 2500 variables and equality constraints was solved under Matlab platform, through the simulation, the temperature and other material distribution alone the column was obtained. Lastly, to maximize the liquid product, optimization work was carried, the results demonstrate that through operation optimization, liquid product can increase obviously, and optimal operation can obtained for the direction of control.
