A turn-on MOF-based luminescent sensor for highly selective detection of glutathione

2019
Abstract Glutathione (GSH), as a key regulator for the redox balance of biological processes, was detected with a metal-organic framework (MOF) ( UiO-67-sbdc ) fluorescence sensor. The fluorescence of UiO-67-sbdc could be effectively enhanced by GSH via an electronic effect between GSH and the ligand of MOF, thus achieving the recognition of GSH. It is the first attempt to design a MOF-based fluorescent sensor to distinguish GSH from cysteine (Cys). This sensor exhibited short response time ( UiO-67-sbdc in this work has its application prospect in clinically judging antioxidant capacity of the body.
