Utilising the Media to Raise Awareness of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Problems in Australia - Documentary: Is Your House Killing You?

In an attempt to increase the profile and awareness of IAQ problems in residential homes, a science-based documentary tracking the health of seven typical Australian families was commissioned in 2007. The aim of the program was to bring to light daily IAQ problems that the everyday householder faces and solutions to their problems. The documentary succeeded in bringing science and reality together in a medium that could be readily assessable to the wider public. It is envisaged that such shows can be more effective in bringing complex scientific medical information to the public arena.
