Spread of multi-drug resistant bacterial infection in neonatal hospital:a study on prevention and control

2011
OBJECTIVE To study the effective method of preventing and controlling the spread of multidrug-resistant infection in newborns in hospitals.METHODS In a one-year period from 2009.1 to 2009.12,the hospital Infection control workers developed multi-resistant nosocomial infection prevention and control guidelines, specified the work of the relevant sections′ operational responsibilities and related technical specifications, supervised the implementation of inspection guidelines;enforced targeted monitoring towards multi-resistant infections;enhanced medical personnel training of related knowledge;organized multi-department cooperation in Hospital Infection Control Department.RESULTS Correlated management system was implemented well, various techniques were operated normatively. The recent multi-resistant hospital bacterial infections composition, departments distribution, composition of the source samples and other characteristic had been mastered.During the study, there was no epidemic or outbreak event of neonatal multi-resistant infections in hospitals.CONCLUSION Hospital infection control department developing and supervising the implementation of multi-resistant nosocomial infection prevention and control guidelines, enforcing targeted monitoring, training medical personnel of related knowledge and multi-department cooperation these comprehensive measures are effective ways to prevent and control neonatal hospital spread of infection of multidrug resistance bacteria.
