Electric Locomotive Laboratory Test Bench for Research and Educational Purposes

The article presents a laboratory test bench for an electric locomotive used for the research and educational purposes. The electric locomotive is on four axles, driven by four D.C. motors and supplied from a laboratory catenary on a truck of 6 meters. The laboratory test bench is realized as similar as possible to a real electric locomotive considering the supply system, the power collections system, the mechanical and electrical structure. A LabVIEW interface is used to control the locomotive from a computer.
